How to Safely and Easily Clean a Chandelier on a High Ceiling
A chandelier is a beautiful addition to any room, but when it’s on a high ceiling it can be difficult to clean. Not to worry, though! With a few simple tips and tricks, you can have your chandelier sparkling in no time.
What You’ll Need
Before you get started, you’ll need a few supplies:
A sturdy ladder
A dusting brush with soft bristles (a paintbrush will work in a pinch)
A vacuum cleaner with a hose attachment
A microfiber cloth
Mild dish soap
A hairdryer (optional)
Cleaning Your Chandelier
Now that you have everything you need, let’s get started!
Start by dusting your chandelier with the brush. If any of the bulbs are burnt out, now is a good time to replace them. Next, use the vacuum cleaner with the hose attachment to suck up any remaining dust. Be careful not to bump the chandelier with the vacuum cleaner; you don’t want to break anything! Once you’ve dusted and vacuumed, take your microfiber cloth and lightly dampen it with warm water. Gently wipe down each individual piece of the chandelier until it’s clean. If there are any stubborn spots, mix a small amount of mild dish soap into your bucket of warm water and use that to clean the chandelier. Rinse each piece with clean water afterwards. Allow the chandelier to air dry completely or use a hairdryer on the cool setting to speed up the process. And that’s it! You now have a sparkling clean chandelier.
Cleaning a chandelier on a high ceiling doesn’t have to be difficult or dangerous. With these simple tips, you can have your chandelier looking like new in no time!
